Bhubaneswar, July 3: Odisha Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra today took a Mo Bus ride to assess city bus services in Bhubaneswar.
As per reports, Mahapatra purchased a ticket and travelled from Master Canteen Square to Gadakan bus depot.
The Cabinet Minister, who was accompanied by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) Managing Director Arun Bothra during his ride, interacted with his fellow passengers and inquired about safety measures during emergencies.
Mahapatra urged the Mo Bus employees to treat passengers with respect and professionalism to avoid any unpleasant incidents.
During his journey, Mahapatra also announced to introduce 400 electric buses shortly to enhance clean mobility in the public transport fleet.
"It's crucial for us to experience passengers' challenges firsthand through bus rides. We will engage with passengers to understand their concerns. Additional buses will be deployed on high-demand routes, and plans are underway to introduce bus services on those routes in the city where the service is currently unavailable,” said Mahapatra.
