Ganjam, March 18: The Badagada Police in Odisha’s Ganjam arrested three persons and detained as many as 13 accused in connection with the Kharipalli triple murder case, took place on Tuesday.
The incident was reported from the Kharipalli village under the Badagada Police limit in the evening.
According to the report, two groups confronted each other over alleged sorcery practice of a man. Later, they attacked the man and his son with sharp weapons wherein the duo died on the spot. On the other hand, one died from the opposite side whereas three others became critical during the struggle.
On being informed, the police rushed to the spot seized the bodies and sent the injured ones to the MKCG Medical College & Hospital for treatment.
Armed forces have been yet deployed in the village anticipating further law & order situation and to safeguard the victims’ family members, said the Ganjam SP who took stock of the matter visiting the violence-hit village.
