NCP leader and ex-Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique shot dead in Mumbai

Mumbai, October 12: In a shocking turn of events, Baba Siddique, a prominent leader associated with Ajit Pawar’s faction of the NCP, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bandra, Mumbai, on Saturday. 

The incident occurred at the office of his son Zeeshan Siddique, who serves as the MLA from Bandra East.

Following the attack, Baba Siddique was swiftly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where efforts to save his life unfortunately proved futile. The hospital confirmed his untimely demise, marking a grim day for Maharashtra politics.

According to initial reports, the assailants fired multiple rounds at Siddique, prompting a rapid police response to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. 

The incident has cast a shadow over the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, adding an element of uncertainty and concern among political circles.
