New Delhi, Sept 5: Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan conferred AICTE- Visvesvaraya Best Teacher Award to 17 faculty members in Engineering and Technology whereas 3 faculty members were awarded the AICTE-Dr. Pritam Singh Best Teacher Award in Management Education. He also conferred Chhatra Vishwakarma Award Clean and Smart Campus Award, 2020 to the winners today. On the occasion of Teachers' Day, glad to have joined AICTE’s celebrations to honour the contribution of our industrious teaching community. Compliment AICTE for taking forward this great tradition of our country to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S Radhakrishnan, said Pradhan. An erudite, an iconic thinker, a statesman, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan played an instrumental role in shaping India’s destiny during the pre and post-independence era. The country today, especially the teaching fraternity continues to be guided by Dr. S Radhakrishnan, he added. Today, when we are celebrating the Amrut Mahotsav, the role of teachers in taking forward our teaching traditions is critical. The NEP 2020 encourages holistic learning. It will help create global citizens and also establish India as a knowledge economy, he said.
