New Odisha DGP YB Khurania visits Lord Jagannath

Puri, Aug 17: The newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha YB Khurania visited Shri Jagannath Temple at Puri on Saturday.

After taking charge of his new office at the Odisha Police Headquarters in Cuttack on Friday, Khurania accompanied by his family reached Puri this morning.He sought the blessing of Lord Jagannath offering prayers to the sibling deities.

Expressing devotion to the Lord Khurania said, “During my central deputation, I often reminisced about Lord Jagannath. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord and the people of his divine territory once again.”

“It will be my proud priviledge to take all essential measures to enhance the security of the temple and ensure a safe visiti and darshan of the Holy Trinity.”, the DGP added.

Khurania, a 1990-batch IPS officer, was accorded a rousing welcome by Puri Superintendent of Police Pinaki Mishra and other senior police officials at the Lions’ Gate of the temple.
