Bhubaneswar, October 12: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced that Cuttack will soon be transformed into a smart city.
The declaration was made during his visit to a Durga Mandap in Cuttack on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra) today.
The Chief Minister highlighted Cuttack's rich thousand-year-old heritage and expressed his joy in celebrating Dussehra in the city, which is known for its peace and communal harmony.
Majhi assured that his BJP-led government would focus on the city's comprehensive development and modernization as part of the Smart City Mission.
In July 2015, Bhubaneswar was the first city from Odisha to be included under the Centre's Smart City Mission.
Following that, the Odisha government proposed the inclusion of four more cities, namely Rourkela, Cuttack, Berhampur, and Sambalpur.
