Kendrapara, July 26: Kendrapara Ad-hoc Additional Session Judge (Fast Track Special Court) Tribikram Keshari Chinhara sentenced a man for 20 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) after he was found guilty of sodomizing a minor boy.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict, Soudagara Sahoo (55) of Guhalakani village under Rajanagar police limits.
The fine money will be given to the victim for his medical expenses, said the Judge.
The court further directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.
The victim’s mother on July 16, 2021 night lodged a complaint against the convict, neighbour of the victim, stating that he took her son to the cattle shed that afternoon for playing ludo and forcefully sodomized him, said police. The complainant also alleged that Soudagara had also sexually harassed her minor daughter.
Court convicted Soudagara hearing statements of 10 witnesses of the case.
