Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: Celebrated director SS Rajamouli, who is currently in Odisha’s Koraput district for the shoot of his upcoming big-budget film SSMB29, embarked on a solo trek to the state’s highest mountain peak Deomali.
Though he was captivated by its breathtaking beauty, but the sight of litter along the trail dampened his experience.
Rajamouli, known for his cinematic spectacles like Baahubali and RRR, took to his official ‘X’ handle to share a video from his trek, showing waste materials scattered around, making the place look untidy.
“Had an amazing solo trek to Deomali, Odisha’s highest and most stunning peak. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. However, it was disheartening to see the trail marred by litter. Such pristine wonders deserve better. A little civic sense can make a huge difference… Every visitor should carry back their waste to help protect these places,” he wrote in the caption highlighting the need for responsible tourism and civic awareness.

In addition to Rajamouli, actors Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra were also in Koraput for the film shoot.
Before departing, Rajamouli and Priyanka expressed their gratitude to the people of Koraput for their warm hospitality.
"Dear Koraput, thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Looking forward to many more adventures. With love from the sets of SSMB-29," read their message.
It is worth mentioning that ‘SSMB29’ will be an action-packed jungle adventure film being made with a massive budget of approximately Rs 1,000 crore and is set to be a grand cinematic experience.
Koraput has been a favorite destination for South filmmakers in recent years. Actress Anushka Shetty spent nearly a month shooting for Ghaati in the region, while Tollywood star Venkatesh filmed crucial scenes of Sankranthiki Vasthunam at Balda Caves.
