New Delhi, July 19: Major IT glitches in Microsoft Corporation's cloud services has almost wreaked aviation services aross the globe.
It resulted, widespread flight cancellations and delays across the world, including India, Australia and other neighboring nations on Friday.
Frontier Airlines including including IndiGo, Akasa Airlines and SpiceJet have opted grounding their planes to deal with passengers’ inconvenience.
The technical problem put commuters in distress while major airports across the world reported on grounding and encountering disrupted Cloud services provided by the Tech giant Microsoft Corporation.
Delhi Airport posted on X saying some services at the airport were temporarily impacted due the global IT outage. "We are closely working with all our stakeholders to minimise the inconvenience to our flyers," the airport said. Bengaluru Airport said IndiGo, Akasa, Spicejet in T1, Air India Express in T2 among those impacted.
Regular passenger-centric activities at the Chennai airport were severely affected while boarding passes of the passengers, their checkouts could not be generated.
Official sources said. 'Server outage' was the reason for the disruption in routine activities, they told media.
Mumbai Chhatrapati Sivaji Airport authorities said that the global IT outage affected some airline operations. Booking, check-in, access to boarding passes and flights were found impacted in a greater impact.
Owing to the outage, a number of flights were cancelled and a few others were asked to emergently land enroute, in order to get rid of customers’ ordeal.
