Bhubaneswar, October 3: Senior IPS officer Pinak Mishra officially assumed his role as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
Upon his arrival at the DCP office, Mishra received a warm welcome from senior police officers of the Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police.
In his first statement as DCP, Mishra emphasized his commitment to providing excellent policing services in the city.
With the upcoming Durga Puja festival, he highlighted the need to focus on law and order, given that Bhubaneswar draws large crowds from across the country during the event. Mishra acknowledged the challenges posed by the festival, particularly the risk of anti-social elements taking advantage of the gatherings to commit crimes.
To address this, Mishra assured that the police will be on high alert and perform their duties diligently to ensure a safe and successful festival.
He also called for the cooperation of the city's residents and intellectuals to bolster security efforts.
Mishra, who previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Puri, replaces Prateek Singh as Bhubaneswar DCP.
