Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para-athlete Suchitra Parida delivered a phenomenal performance to secure the gold medal in the Women’s F-55 Javelin event and rewrote a new meet record (NMR) in the Khelo India Para Games 2025 at Delhi on Saturday. With an impressive throw of 18.57 meters, Suchitra outshone her competitors, reaffirming her dominance in the sport.
The silver medal was claimed by Garima Joshi from Uttarakhand, who registered a throw of 15.24 meters, while Sakshi Kasana of Uttar Pradesh secured the bronze medal with a throw of 14.41 meters.
“Earlier meet record was in the name of Suchitra with 16.99m. She created a new meet record with 18.57m. The victory is a testament to her dedication, rigorous training, and unwavering determination. Her outstanding performance not only brings pride to Odisha but also inspires aspiring para-athletes across the nation’, said her coach Malaya Ranjan Pati.
