Bhubaneswar, March 21:Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Odisha on Thursday moved Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) against BJD alleging violation of Model Code of Conduct(MCC).
A delegation from the state BJP alleged that posters, hoardings and banners of the Odisha government are yet to be removed from different places in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack despite model code of conduct for the upcoming elections is on force.
The delegation of BJP, led by state party Vice-President Lekhashree Samantsinghar, visited the office of the Chief Electoral Officer and lodged a complaint in this regard. The delegation submitted a complaint along with pictorial evidence of their allegations, to the Chief Election Commission through the CEO.
The memorandum read, posters highlighting Jaga Mission and Mukta Yojana are still visible at the BJD’s ward offices of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
Apart from it, the ruling BJD has been giving publicity to Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha programme in rural areas, the BJP claimed.
