Bhubaneswar, January 2: Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) mechanism will be implemented soon in healthcare, said Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Thursday.
In view of making patients’ registration and doctors’ prescriptions paperless, the ABHA account will serve all the purposes of an individual seeking prompt health care, said Mahaling.
Underlining the ABHA mechanism, already implemented in government of India’s healthcare system the Minister said, Odisha is poised to revolutionise the way patients manage their medical information with the forthcoming National Digital Health Mission (NDHM).
The initiative, overseen by the National Health Authority, will be branded as the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).
It aims to digitize patients’ medical data into a cohesive accessible platform. Patients will have the opportunity to register for an ABHA card. This framework intends to streamline healthcare management by aggregating individual patient data based on population statistics. The plan includes a unique QR code system, granting users instant access to their historical medical records, the Minister further said.
This online application is part of the broader NDHM vision, with anticipations that the dispersal of cards will commence before February, Mahaling added.
