Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated the National Road Safety Month on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Bhubaneswar.
The theme of the initiative is "Come Home Safe" and it aims to raise awareness about road safety and responsible driving.
The occasion was marked by an awareness rally, which saw enthusiastic participation from various groups, including the transport department, NCC cadets, school and college students, drivers, and artists. The rally began at Master Canteen Square and concluded at Ram Mandir Square, drawing significant attention to the importance of road safety.
During the event, the Chief Minister administered a pledge, encouraging everyone to follow road safety rules diligently. Adding a creative touch, artists performed a thought-provoking skit featuring Chandragupta and Yamaraj, delivering a strong message about the consequences of neglecting road safety.
The event saw the presence of several notable figures, including Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, and other officials.
