Malkangiri, Jan 6: At least six individuals hailing from Chhattisgarh have been arrested on Sunday for allegedly engaging in witchcraft under the guise of a religious ceremony in Orkel locality of Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The identities of the accused persons have not been disclosed by the police.
As per reports, the local administration had permitted a three-day religious event in Chitapari-4 village under Orkel police limits in the district. However on the second day, reports surfaced that the accused were performing witchcraft in the name of rituals.
Acting on the complaints, Orkel police swung into action and raided the site.
