Bhubaneswar: SUNDAY MAXIMISED. Amid the Allu Arjun hysteria gripping over the cinephiles, the Sukumar directed movie Pushpa 2 The Rule minted a record on Sunday. The film has grossed Rs 141 cr across the languages.
But the big surprise has been the movie buffs in the north who have gone gaga over Allu Arjun and Pushpa 2. This column has predicted a 80cr Hindi earning on Sunday but the actual Sunday language wise earnings are given below.

WHY ALLU ARJUN NEW BOLYWOOD BADSHAH?
A glance at the above numbers tells the big tale evolving in Bollywood. The tollywood superstar Allu Arjun starred movie Sunday earnings were lower than Day 1 by 46% in Telugu, but in Hindi, the rise was 20% and it will become the fastest to enter 300cr club Monday. All the films have posted higher Sunday collection vis-a-vis the opening Day collections. But after Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 that posted a 27% jump on Sunday vis-a- vis Day 1, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 had shown a jump of 15.6%.
Jawan, Pathan and Stree 2 growth had been in single digit, Ranbir starred Animal showed 11% growth but that was film’s Day number 3, not day 4 like Pushpa 2's.
The above number crunching shows despite no compelling storyline, which even writer and director of the film Sukumar has admitted that I have no script for the sequel and I did produce one purely for the passion of Allu Arjun, the film is gaining wonder traction in the Hindi belt, Mumbai, Gujarat, Odisha and West Bengal regions. The Sunday occupancy in the region hovered high between 92% and 76%. In Hindi belt it was estimated at around 85% and In Odisha it has been at around 90%.
The wonder response to Allu Arjun starred movie shows the Hindi viewing audience are in a search of a Massy superstar. For the Hindi viewing audience, the last massy superstar was Mithun Chakraborty, after Amitabh Bachchan’s exit.
Shahrukh Khan was lover boy star, so too Amir Khan. Akshay Kumar debuted as action hero, but he never gained the traction of Amitabh Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty.
Allu Arjun in Pushpa 1 and Pushpa 2 has delivered the glimpse of massy star, whom the audience has been in fervent search on silver screens. The result it is doing wonder in Hindi language.
WHEN WILL IT RAKE 1000 CRORE?
As on Sunday, the movie has collected net (after tax and distributor’s commission) Rs 529 cr in India from across the languages. The film is likely to gross net 1000 cr across all languages in week number 2.
However, all eyes now on how far Pushpa 2 mints in Hindi?
A study of the films box office collection shows the pace and mass hysteria for Pushpa 2 The Rule will see the film minting Rs 600 cr in Hindi by week 3 and over Rs 700cr by week 7.
