Xiaomi has introduced its latest electric SUV, the YU7, built on the SU7 sedan platform. The company announced that the SUV will be available in the Chinese market by July 2025, with a focus on domestic sales for the first two to three years.
Specifications & features:
The Xiaomi YU7 boasts a 3000mm wheelbase, measuring 4999mm in length, 1996mm in width, and 1600mm in height, making it larger than the Tesla Model Y. It shares several design elements with the SU7, including teardrop-style LED headlights, a distinctive bumper design, and a roof hump indicating LiDAR technology for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Performance:
The YU7 features a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 691hp — 299hp at the front and 392hp at the rear. It can reach a top speed of 253km/h and has a kerb weight of 2405kg.
Battery & Range:
The SUV’s batteries are supplied by CATL, the same manufacturer that provides batteries for Tesla. It is expected to feature a 101kWh battery, similar to the high-end SU7 models, offering a range close to 830km, though the YU7's range might be slightly lower.
Further details about the Xiaomi YU7 electric SUV are expected in the coming months.
