New Delhi, October 14: Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the Delhi Police and Gujarat Police for their joint efforts in seizing drugs worth Rs 13,000 crore, reiterating the government's commitment to a drug-free India.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shah lauded the agencies, stating, "I congratulate Delhi Police for their successful operations, including the recent one with Gujarat Police that recovered Rs 5,000 crore worth of cocaine. The fight against drugs will continue relentlessly."
Under the Drug Free India campaign, Delhi Police recently seized 1,289 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana in various operations this October. A joint operation on October 13 led to the recovery of 518 kg of cocaine in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, while another major seizure occurred in Delhi’s Mahipalpur and Ramesh Nagar.
