Bengaluru, Mar 21: A software engineer from Bengaluru has filed a police complaint against his wife, accusing her of harassment and blackmail.

The victim, identified as Srikanth, posted a video on social media, claiming his wife demands Rs 5,000 per day to live with him. Srikanth also alleged that his wife refuses to have biological children, stating that her beauty would be compromised, and insists on adopting children instead.
He filed the complaint at the Vyalikaval police station, who then transferred the case to the Sadashivanagar police. However, the authorities noted that the Rs 5,000 per day demand was not mentioned in Srikanth's formal complaint.
According to Srikanth, the couple married in 2022, but his wife has not lived with him for a single day since their marriage. He claimed that both she and her parents have been mentally and physically harassing him for money. He also accused her of disturbing his work while he was working from home, by arguing with him, dancing in front of his laptop during video calls, and playing loud music.
Moreover, Srikanth alleged that when he requested a divorce, his wife demanded Rs 45 lakh as compensation. He also accused her of blackmailing him with threats of suicide if he attempted to leave. Srikanth claimed his wife had physically assaulted him on several basis.
In addition to his complaints, an audio recording of a conversation between the couple has gone viral, and Srikanth later released a video in which his wife allegedly demands Rs 5,000 per day.
