Bhubaneswar, April 1: On the occasion of Utkal Diwas (the foundation day of Odisha) today, local BJP leaders and workers welcomed Abhimanyu Sethi, son of eightitime MP Arjun Sethi and party nominee for Bhadrak Lok Sabha seat, at Madhubabu Square in Chandabali. They organized a grand procession to the local party office, where a meeting was held. During the meeting, Abhimanyu urged party workers to unite their efforts to secure victory in the upcoming election. He also outlined the plan and strategy for winning the election in Bhadrak.
Abhimanyu’s father, Arjun Sethi, had represented the Bhadrak Lok Sabha seat eight times. Before 2019 election, he left BJD and joined BJP.
In 2019, Abhimanyu was BJP candidate here and secured 483,502 votes but lost to the BJD candidate Manjulata Mandal, who received 512,305 votes. Manjulata served as the Bhadrak MP from 2019 to 2024.
As the ruling BJD has not yet declared its MP candidate, the electoral battle in Bhadrak promises to be closely contested. Let’s see how the political landscape unfolds in this crucial constituency.
