Bhubaneswar, Mar 1: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced to hike the monthly remuneration of Gana Sikhyakas, who have not passed the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET), from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000.

As many as 1,121 Gana Sikhyakas across the state will be benefitted from this move. The Chief Minister also decided to recruit the ‘Gana Sikhyakas’ who have passed the OTET as Med Teachers (Ex-cadre). This move will benefit as many as 1,472 ‘Gana Sikhyakas’. In addition to this, Patnaik also announced that Assistant Teachers (Ex-Cadre) who have passed OTET will be given annual increment. This will benefit 9,520 teachers.
It is worth mentioning that teachers from across the state had made repeated pleas to 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman V K Pandian during his visits. Taking those requests into consideration, Patnaik made the announcement.
