In light of a recent meeting held by the peace committee, the district administration has outlined several safety measures for the immersion processions. Officials have stressed the importance of regulations to maintain order during the celebrations.

Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo addressed the media, stating, “Organizers have been instructed to adhere to designated time limits and regulate crowd sizes at the pandals. They must also ensure sound levels do not exceed 65 decibels.”

He emphasized the need for puja committees to coordinate with their respective police stations to finalize immersion procession routes, allowing for timely traffic management planning. “We want everyone to enjoy the celebrations, but it is equally important to maintain order and safety,” he added.

Additionally, specific guidelines have been issued for the construction of puja pandals. Organizers are required to erect pandals at a safe distance from roads and surrounding areas, ensuring fire safety measures and water provisions are in place. Inspections will be conducted upon completion of the pandals, and only then will temporary electricity connections be provided.

The district administration has instructed TPWODL to guarantee an uninterrupted power supply during the festivities. Furthermore, the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation has been tasked with addressing sanitation, water supply, and street lighting concerns. Additional police personnel will be deployed around major immersion sites and throughout the city, with special attention given to traffic management and crowd control to prevent disruptions.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any disturbances during the celebrations. A control room is being established at the SP's office, and a toll-free number, 1800-3456-791, has been made available for public complaints. This year, at least 50 pandals will be set up across the city, promising a grand celebration.
