Nayagarh, May 25: An elderly woman, identified as Kumudini Dalei from Patharpunji village in Odisha's Nayagarh district, reportedly passed away while waiting to cast her vote in Bhapur block on Saturday. Although the exact cause of her death is still under investigation, it is suspected to be heatstroke-related.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred while Kumudini was standing in line outside the polling booth to participate in the electoral process. She suddenly lost consciousness due to the intense heat and was promptly taken to Khandapada Hospital. Despite medical efforts, doctors pronounced her deceased.
