Bhubaneswar, March 24: In a major relief to the power consumers, the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) on Monday kept the electricity consumers’ tariffs unchanged.
The OERC resolved that it will not increase the electricity tariff for the upcoming financial year.
As per the latest declaration, consumers using smart meters with a connected load of up to 2 kilowatts will now be exempt from paying the monthly meter rent.
Similarly in order to promote digital transactions, the 4% rebate on electricity bills paid through digital payment methods will also continue, the OERC authorities decided.
At the same time, Rs 10 will be deduced from the bill if a consumer opts for an E-Bill.
Apart from it, consumers with pre-paid meters shall get a 4 % rebate on the pre-paid amount whereas the LT domestic and single phase general purpose consumers will avail 4 % digital payment rebate, said Priyabrata Patnaik, Secretary OERC during a press meet.
