Five Naxalites killed in encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur

Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh), July 2 : In Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, five Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces. 

The joint operation involved the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Border Security Force (BSF), and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). 

These forces were conducting an anti-Naxalite operation in the hilly forests of Narayanpur. Fortunately, no security personnel were injured during the incident1.

This year, a total of 139 Naxalites have been killed in separate encounters with security forces in Chhattisgarh. 

The Bastar division alone accounted for 136 of these fatalities, spanning seven districts. 

Additionally, two Naxalites were killed in Raipur division’s Dhamtari district. 

The recent encounter in Narayanpur adds to this toll, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat Naxal activities in the region.
