Honda EV Fun: Trendy choice of smart riders
The EV Fun Concept is the first naked electric sports bike from Honda which is equipped with a fixed battery pack. The company claims “it offers performance equivalent to a mid-sized internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle”. A production version of the same is projected to go on sale next year.
While on paper the prototype is still a concept, details such as the finalised brakes and suspension suggests that the EV Fun Concept is very near to production. Honda is yet to divulge any specific details about the bike but has confirmed that it will offer a range of around 100 km on a single charge. Further, the battery is compatible with the CCS2 quick charger.
Coming to its design, the EV Fun Concept definitely looks like a machine from the future which makes it very contemporary in the premium electric motorcycle market. The proportions are very geometric and the body panels appear to be well put together. One of the key highlights is the headlamp setup which is reminiscent of the Ola Electric Roadster.
Honda EV Urban: Crafted for the netizens
The EV Urban Concept, on the other hand, is an innovation in the bike world which has been developed from scratch in line with Honda’s vision of what urban electric mobility should be crafted with.
Essentially, it is a maxi-scooter with most probably the battery pack placed above the foot board and the rider having to swing his legs over the seat and place his feet on the extendable footpegs just like a highly motored bike.
This prototype Honda Urban EV looks very much at a concept stage with its sophisticated and slightly over-the-top design. We have already seen something like this in the BMW CE 04 which launched in India earlier this year, although we expect Honda to dial it down a little in the final production version. As of now, Honda hasn’t revealed any technical details of this product.
