UP, July 3: Uttar Pradesh Police on Wednesday filed a First Information Report against the organizers of a religious gathering in Hathras, where a stampede tragically claimed the lives of at least 121 people. Notably, the FIR does not include Baba Narayan Hari, also known as Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba, as a defendant.
The FIR has been lodged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 126 (2) (wrongful restraint), 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant), and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence), as confirmed by officials.
According to the Office of the Relief Commissioner, the death toll from the incident on Wednesday has risen to 121, with 28 individuals reported injured.
