Birmingham (England), July 13: India and Pakistan battling against each other in a cricket championship final pumps up not only the players and fans of both sides, but provides lot of entertainment for cricket enthusiasts round the globe.
The India-Pakistan T20 title clash on Saturday may not be a battle between players of both teams, who are at their prime. But even the veterans whenever they face each other, are likely to get extra charged up if it is an India-Pakistan match.
On Saturday, the World Championship of Legends (WCL) Final will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The two teams reached the final of the tournament by winning their respective semi-final clashes.
Yuvraj Singh led India thrashed Australia by a massive 86 runs margin and Pakistan defeated West Indies by 20 runs in their respective knockout matches. The league has reached its final frontier after 17 exciting contests, as India Champions will take on Pakistan Champions in the summit clash.
In the semi-final against Australia, Indian opener Robin Uthappa hit a 35-ball 65. Skipper Yuvraj turned back the clock with his blazing knock of 59 runs from 28 deliveries. Yusuf and Irfan Pathan's quick-fire fifties ensured the India Champions posted a mammoth total of 254 runs against the Australia Champions. The Australians succumbed to scoreboard pressure and were restricted to 168 runs.
Worth mentioning that India and Pakistan met each other earlier in the tournament. India lost that game by 68 runs. However, the summit clash may be a different ball game, as both sides would be keen to win the title.
