Puri, July 14: Ratna Bhandar of the Shri Jagannath Temple is going to be opened today.
Opening of the Ratna Bhandar and inventory of its jems and jewels treasured in the innermost cellars, are likely to begin in the afternoon on Sunday, said sources of Shri Jagannth Temple Administration(SJTA).
Earlier on July 13, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed that all preparations are at place for the inventory of the treasure trove of the Lord Jagannath after all the functionalites are readied.
He said the Odisha government has approved the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) recommended by the high-power supervisory committee and the managing committee.
Meanwhile, Justice Biswanath Rath, chairman of the high-level committee, informed that the Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir would be opened almost after 1 PM.
Performing some traditional formalities, the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar will be opened at scheduled time, Justice Rath added.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed Deputy CM Pravati Parida, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan and Culture Minister Suryavanshi Suraj to camp in Puri till Niladri Bije to ensure smooth conduct of all rituals.
