Cuttack, Oct 21: Thousands of devotees flocked to the renowned Dhabaleswar temple in Cuttack district, Odisha, today, marking the first Monday of the sacred Kartik month to witness the Bada Singhara Besha of Baba Chandrasekhar.
On this auspicious occasion, devotees offered milk, water, flowers, fruits, and 'bel' leaves to Lord Dhabaleswar. Many also took holy dips in the Mahanadi River, praying to Lord Shiva for the fulfillment of their wishes.
Observing long hours of fasting as a sign of devotion, the devotees formed long queues to catch a glimpse of the deity. The administration had made extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and orderly experience for the devotees.
In anticipation of the increased number of visitors, security measures at the temple have been heightened.
Notably, Bada Osha will be celebrated on November 13, followed by the offering of Gaja Bhoga to the Lord that evening, which will be distributed to devotees on November 14. The month-long Kartik Brata will conclude on November 15, highlighted by the Boita Utsav.
Given the expected large crowd at the Dhabaleswar temple for Bada Osha, special security protocols will be implemented to facilitate a safe and enjoyable celebration.
