Bhubaneswar: Seeda Saada Akshay Akshay... is back in the game. The Khiladi star and Maddock film are preparing to rock the silver screen with Sky Force.
As per the poster released by the makers (See the poster below), Akshay Kumar starred film Sky Force based on a true story will be releasing worldwide in cinemas on January 25.
The makers have also announced launching of the trailer of the film on Jan 5 (Sunday). In the film, Akshay Kumar plays the role of an Air Force officer.
According to reports, the movie was first conceived in June 2022, and the official announcement of the film was made in 2023. The film is about India’s first and deadliest airstrike during the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965.
SKY FORCE POSTPONED RELEASE
The shooting of the film was completed in April 2024, and the release date of Sky Force was actually slated on October 2, 2024. But it was postponed. Take a glance at the Oct 2 release date shared by none other than Akshay Kumar.
Finally, the film’s release date has been announced on Jan 25, and the date shows the makers are looking to go on an overdrive patriotic fervor of Republic day to take the film collections to a soaring height.
ABOUT SKY FORCE
The film brings on to the screen India’s retaliatory attack on Sargodha Air base in Pakistan in the 1965 Indo-Pak War. The air attack is being described a India’s first and deadliest.
In addition to Akshay Kumar, the film also see Saar Ali Khan, Nimrit Kaur, debutant Veer, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur directed the film, while Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande have produced the film..
Sandeep Kewlani poured love on his team and said, “I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who worked on Sky Force. The film was definitely a challenging one to bring to life, but it’s the dedication of the crew that made it all possible.”
Alongside, Abhishek Anil Kapur wrote, “Best Crew. Can’t thank each one who worked on Sky Force enough. The film was surely a difficult one to achieve. But it was the crew which made it all happen.”
BUZZ AROUND FILM LOW KEY
The Akshay Kumar starred film Sky Force mantains a very low key profile. What seems surprising is the film doesn't figure in the IMDb's top-10 popularity last as on Jan 4, 2025, when th etrailer release is slated on Jan 5. As per reports, the promotional events for the film will begin after the release of Trailer.
The moot point is will the low profile of Sky Force affect its box office collections?
