Bhubaneswar: It was year 1974-75. Kishore Kumar, who became famous by then by lending his golden voice to Rajesh Khanna songs, received an offer to work with Naushad Sahab – the famed musician – in the film Sunhera Sansar.
The 1975 film stars Rajendra Kumar in the lead role. When Rajendra Kumar came to know about this, he asked dropping of Kishore Kumar and giving the song to Mohammad Rafi. Incidentally, Rafi Sahab has been the voice of Rajendra Kumar hits.
As Rajendra Kumar then, known as Jubilee Kumar, has been a bigger star than Kishore Kumar, the makers dropped Kishore Kumar from the playgroud singer list.
This dropping has not gone down well with Kishore Kumar. The budding singer thought that he had got a golden chance to work with Naushad but it has been snatched away from him due to Rajendra Kumar’s insistence. The rancor lingered on from then as Kishore never had any oppotunity later to work with music composer Naushad.
