Bhubaneswar, February 28: Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025 at Janata Maidan continues to be a hub of excitement, drawing thousands of visitors eager to explore the diverse range of Self Help Group (SHG) products.
From handcrafted textiles and intricate tribal jewelry to organic produce and authentic Odia delicacies, the mela remains the ultimate destination for shopping, culture, and community engagement.
The Food Court remains a highlight, serving mouth-watering millet-based and traditional Odia dishes that have kept food lovers coming back for more.
A major attraction of Day 7 was the live demonstration counters,offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the craftsmanship firsthand. Artisans and SHG women set up interactive live counters, showcasing the rich artistic traditions of Odisha. Pottery, wooden craft, paper mache, golden grass weaving, sabai grass art, and lac toy making were among the demonstrations that fascinated the crowds. Visitors got the chance to mold clay and try their hands at traditional pottery under the guidance of skilled artisans.
As the sun set, the cultural stage lit up with a spectacular lineup of performances. The audience was treated to a mesmerizing Mahari dance recital by Rupashree Mishra, capturing the elegance and devotion of this classical Odia dance form.
The evening then took a humorous turn with satirical poetry by renowned poets Gyana Hota, Durga Mahapatra, Satyanasia, and Sarbagila, leaving the audience in splits with their witty verses and clever wordplay.
