Mumbai, July 5: After the victory parade, here on Thursday night, Indian batting mainstay and ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024's Player of the Final Virat Kohli left for London on a family vacation. In London, Kohli will reunite with wife actress Anushka Sharma, daughter Vamika and son Akaay.
After India's T20 World Cup victory in Bridgetown (Barbados) Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have quit the T20Is. But they would continue to be available for the ODIs and Tests, they had announced in Bidgetown on June 29 after India's World Cup victory.
Since Kohli is not part of the five T20Is in Zimbabwe and there is no immediate international cricket schedule for him in the other two formats, Kohli understandably has opted for a family holiday in England.
Meanwhile, a young Indian squad is on a Zimbabwe tour for five T20Is. The team is led by Shubman Gill and includes Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh and Avesh Khan, who were in West Indies with Team India for the T20 World Cup 2924
Kohli in the recent years, has often opted for family vacations, whenever there is no immediate international cricket schedule for him. That understandably has helped him stay relaxed and be in a fresh mood during before his return to international cricket.
