Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: Kotia issue with Andhra Pradesh is the biggest border dispute for Odisha, said the Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Sudam Marndi in the Odisha Assembly.
Responding to a question raised by BJP MLA Mohan Charan Majhi during the Winter Session on Tuesday Marndi said Odisha has got border disputes with Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand at as many as 14 districts. Of which, the Kotia border dispute is the most significant, to be dealt with.
In view of redressing the border dispute for good, the state government has laid emphasis on bilateral discussion with Andhra Pradesh government. At the same time, the government has beefed up development projects across at least 20 villages in the Kotia area in order to withstand the administrative interventions initiated by the neighbouring state, Marndi added.
