Bhubaneswar, Mar 24: Pandemonium prevailed in Odisha Assembly during the ongoing budget session on Monday after the opposition BJD and Congress members staged protest by holding placards and raising slogans.
As soon as the house assembled for the day, BJD MLAs staged protest demanding reservation for backward classes in jobs and education.
Meanwhile, the Congress members targeted the government over the women safety issue in the state by banging bells.
As the pandemonium prevailed despite repeated requests, Speaker Surama Padhy, unable to run the house, adjourned the proceedings till 12:09 PM and again till 12:30 pm.
Later, as the House reassembled, uproarious scenes erupted again. Following this, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi adjourned the proceedings till 1 PM and called an all-party meeting to resolve the deadlock.
Thereafter, the House was again adjourned till 4 PM.
