Bhubaneswar, March 19: While the Odisha government has already initiated a Crime Branch probe into the high profile assassination of former Health Minister Naba Das from Tuesday, appearance of Das’ family members in the Odisha Lok Seva Bhawan today, sparked another row.The victim’s family members who called on the Odisha CM this afternoon, might have staked their claims for a CBI investigation into the mysterious incident.
According to sources, a team of the Crime Branch of Odisha Police on Tuesday reopened the Naba Das murder case file in order to probe some veiled aspects relating to the incident. The sleuths recorded the statements of Das’ spouse Minati, son Vishal and daughter Dipali in their residence at Jharsuguda.
A few hours to the incident, the Das’ family members sought the appointment of the Odisha CM, to meet and put forth their grievance in connection with Naba’s assassination.Accordingly they met the Odisha CM at the Lok Seva Bhawan in the evening and discussed the matter.
According to sources, Das’ next of the kin, are not satisfied with the investigation wrapped off by the Odisha police soon after the horrific incident. Particulary, they are not convinced of the case diaries and charge sheets submitted by the sleuths then, that revealed the sole connivance of Police ASI Gopal Das. It also seemed incredible for them, that a cop on duty, can shoot a powerful Cabinet Minister for a mere reason allegedly to get rid of a fear factor.
Discussion of Minati Das with Chief Minister Majhi is yet underway while Vishal & Depali are waiting for their mother at the waiting lobby. Thus, the very topic and the content of today’s phenomenal interaction, is yet to be clear.
