In a nail-biting encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India emerged victorious against England in the second T20I, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Tilak Varma played the hero, rescuing India from a precarious position with a brilliant knock of 72 not out.

Chasing a challenging target of 166, India found themselves in troubled waters as their top-order batters faltered. However, Varma stood tall amidst the wreckage, displaying remarkable resilience and maturity beyond his years.

Varma's innings was a blend of aggression and composure. He started confidently, dispatching Jofra Archer for sixes with elegant cuts and flicks. As wickets tumbled at the other end, Varma adapted, carefully navigating the English bowling attack while keeping the scoreboard ticking.

His second surge came in the 16th over, where he once again targeted Archer, plundering 19 runs. Just when a comfortable victory seemed within reach, India lost Arshdeep Singh, who perished attempting a heroic shot against Adil Rashid.

With the pressure mounting, Varma showcased his composure, expertly rotating the strike and finding the boundaries when needed. He received valuable support from Ravi Bishnoi, who held his nerve to see India home with just four balls to spare.
