The victim has been identified as Ranjit Behera, a resident of Puri district.
As per reports, the youth was taking shelter in-front of a Mo Bus which was parked in the parking lot near the Railway Station at Master Canteen. However, the driver started moving the vehicle reportedly without seeing the youth and dragged him for few feet.
Thereafter, he was rushed to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for medical attention.
"I was standing in the shade, a short distance from a ‘Mo Bus’, on a sunny morning after getting off a train. Just as I was about to answer a phone call, the Mo Bus suddenly hit me, and I got stuck between its wheels," the victim recalled.
"We, a family of five, had traveled from Puri to Bhubaneswar by train in the morning for a court-related matter. After leaving the railway station, one of my sons went to inquire about an autorickshaw. I was standing near my elder son, Ranjit, waiting for a vehicle when the bus hit us. While I fell to the ground, the bus dragged him for several miles," said the victim's mother, Lalita Behera.
It is worth mentioning that two persons were killed in Mo Bus' 'reckless driving' at Tomando area in Bhubaneswar.
