Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, as well as the Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik extended their condolences over demise of legendary Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty.
Taking to her official ‘X’ handle, Padhy condoled Mohanty’s demise and prayed to Lord Jagannath for the eternal peace of his soul.
“I am deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear about the passing of popular Odia film actor Uttam Mohanty. As a veteran actor, his performances were truly remarkable and lifelike. His loss is an irreparable void for all of us. I pray to Lord Jagannath for the eternal peace of his soul. Om Shanti,” wrote Padhy.
Similarly, Deputy CM KV Singh Deo extended heartfelt condolences and said Mohanty’s legacy will continue to inspire and entertain generations to come.
“It is with profound sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty. His immense contribution to the Odia film industry and his exceptional talent have left an indelible mark on our cultural heritage. Uttam Mohanty Ji's legacy will continue to inspire and entertain generations to come. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and countless admirers during this difficult time. Omm shanti 🙏🏼,” wrote Deo in a post on his ‘X’ handle.
Deputy CM Pravati Parida expressed grief over Mohanty's passing and said his demise has created an irreparable void in the Odia film industry.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of veteran actor Uttam Mohanty's passing. His demise has created an irreparable void in the Odia film industry. I pray to the Almighty for the eternal peace of his soul and extend my heartfelt condolences to his grieving family. Om Shanti,” wrote Parida on ‘X’.
LoP Naveen Patnaik extended heartfelt condolences and wrote, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing of popular and legendary Odia film actor Uttam Mohanty. His demise has created a great void in the world of art and cinema. The remarkable imprint he left through his performances in numerous films will keep him alive in the hearts of people forever. In this moment of grief, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family and pray for the eternal peace of his soul.”
It is worth mentioning that Mohanty was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for liver cirrhosis and he breathed his last late on Thursday night at the age of 66.
