Sundargarh, Mar 4: In an unfortunate incident, an Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) job aspirant lost his life while taking a 25-kilometre run during a physical test in Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Prabin Kumar Panda, a native of Rourkela.
According to sources, the physical test was being conducted for the recruitment of Forest Guards, Foresters, and Livestock Inspectors. Prabin had applied for the positions of Forest Guard and Forester.
While participating in the 25 km run from Bhabanipur to Baragada, Prabin collapsed near Kirei under the Sadar police limits. He was then rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the hospital and seized his body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
A pal of gloom descended in the area following the tragic demise of Prabin.
