Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC head into the final group game in the AFC Women’s Champions League against Taichung Blue Whale with only faint qualification hopes alive.
Having suffered a heavy defeat in the opening game against Urawa Red Diamonds and a second loss to Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC, the final group game is a must-win encounter for the Kalinga warriors for any chance to qualify.
However, Odisha FC don’t have their destiny in their hands anymore and will need other results to go their way as only two best third-place teams progress to the next round.
Coach Crispin Chhetri said in the pre-match conference that the tournament “has been a great learning experience for the team”.
Taichung Blue Whale also come into the game winless from their two encounters and will prove to be a tough opponent with their qualification hopes also on the line.
