Bhubaneswar, Mar 22: Odisha Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations associated with a Junior Engineer (JE) from the Rural Development (RD) Division, Jajpur to investigate potential disproportionate assets (DA).
The accused has been identified as Bhimsen Maharana. He was caught with over Rs 2.03 lakh suspected ill-gotten cash yesterday.
As per reports, a 12-member vigilance team is carrying out simultaneous raids at multiple locations associated with Maharana at Jajpur and Balianta. The team is carefully examining all documents found in his residence.
Worth mentioning, vigilance officials yesterday intercepted him on National Highway 16 near the Tangi Toll Gate in Cuttack with unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 2.30 lakh. Following the seizure of the money, vigilance officials have also confiscated his car as part of the ongoing investigation.
Further investigation is underway.
