Khordha, Apr 4: In a gruesome incident, miscreants allegedly murdered a youth in the Sandhapur area of Odisha's Khordha district late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Manas Dalei, a resident of Nuagaon under Jatani police limits.
As per reports, some locals spotted Manas lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police.
Upon getting the information, police rushed to the spot and rushed him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar where the attending doctors declared him dead on arrival. Subsequently, his body was sent for post-mortem.
According to a preliminary investigation, Manas was allegedly lured out of his home under false pretenses before being attacked. While the exact motive behind the gruesome killing is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that it might be fallout of past rivalry.
A probe has been launched into the matter and efforts are on to identify and trace the assailants, said the police.
