Hyderabad, Nov 9: The shooting of Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar is currently underway at a luxury hotel in the historic old city of Hyderabad, under tight security measures. This heightened security comes in response to threats the actor has received from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Sources from the police revealed that Khan, who is a 'Y Plus' category security protectee, has been assigned both government-provided protection as well as additional security from his personal team.
This follows a fresh death threat issued to the actor by the Bishnoi gang, which was reported in Mumbai on Friday. The threat was sent to the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline late Thursday night. The message demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore, claiming to represent the Bishnoi gang, and also threatened the lyricist of the song "Main Sikandar Hoon" featured in the film.
In response to the threat, the Worli police in Mumbai have filed a case and launched an investigation.
