Bhubaneswar: Sports Hostel Rourkela emerged victorious after defeating Sports Hostel Sundargarh in a closely contested final that ended 0-0, with a shootout score of 2-1 in the 3rd Sub Junior Women Hockey Championship 2024, which concluded at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, Rourkela on Thursday.
In the match for third and fourth positions, Sundargarh put on a dominant performance, beating Gangpur Hockey Association 5-0.
The event saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Nibedita Pradhan (OAS-SB), Sudipta Kumar Naik (OAS), Vandana Uikey (Head Coach, Sports Hostel Rourkela - Women’s), Sebati Dansana (Financial Officer, BPUT Rourkela), and Sanatan Sahoo (Secretary, Hockey Association of Odisha).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India, congratulated all the teams for their exceptional performances.
