Sundargarh, March 26: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended an amin at Kutra Tahasil in Odisha’s Sundargarh district for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.
The accused has been identified as Sisir Kumar Naik. Vigilance caught Naik red handed while receiving a bribe amount of Rs 6000 from a complainant to prepare sketch map for partition of ROR( PATTA) as per a court order.
Even after receipt of the Court order, the accused Amin was demanding bribe Rs 10,000 from the complainant to prepare sketch map of land to be partitioned for issuance of separate RORs. But, Complainant expressed his inability to pay the demanded bribe. On negotiation, Naik, reduced the bribe amount to Rs6,000. Complainant being a poor man, and left with no option, approached the Vigilance authorities, alleging harassment by Naik.
Following which, Vigilance Officers conducted a raid and nabbed today while taking bribe Rs 6,000 from the complainant.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of accused and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Naik from DA angle
