Bhubaneswar, March 29: Senior IAS Officer Sujata Karthikeyan has applied for Voluntary Retirement.
Following submission of an application in this regard with the Union Government, the Centre reportedly approved Karthikeyan’s application and forwarded to the Odisha government for consideration, said sources.
According to report, Sujata Karthikeyan, the wife of former IAS officer & Biju Janta Dal (BJD) key leader VK Pandian, decided to avail VRS after her return from Lodon. However, she formally submitted the VRS application to the central government authorites a while ago which was later approved.
S Karthikeyan, a 2000-batch IAS officer, had previously served as the Special Secretary in the Odisha Finance Department. Before this office, she worked as Commissioner-Cum- Secretary of the Mission Shakti department.
Worth mentioning, Sujata’s spouse VK Pandian, a former IAS officer, took VRS in 2023 and subsequently joined the BJD. Since then Pandian has been considered a close aide to former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
