New Delhi, March 31: Following a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the residence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi confirmed that the upcoming elections would be contested under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, and he would serve as Chief Minister if the NDA wins.
Tyagi stated, "After Amit Shah's visit and Nitish Kumar's statement, the situation is now clear. JD(U) will continue to be part of the NDA, and the elections will be held under Nitish Kumar's leadership, with him becoming the Chief Minister after the elections."
He also expressed gratitude to the Central government for the various schemes allocated to Bihar in the latest budget.
"Bihar is progressing, and the amount of investment allocated to the state has never been seen before in the history of independent India. The establishment of airports, AIIMS, infrastructure projects, irrigation systems, and dams is paving the way for Bihar’s development," Tyagi added.
Earlier, Bihar Minister Santosh Kumar Suman, son of Jitan Ram Manjhi, echoed similar sentiments, stating that Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the need for the NDA to approach the upcoming Bihar elections in a united manner.
Suman said, "CM Nitish Kumar is the face of the government, and the top leaders of the NDA have also affirmed that we will contest the elections under his leadership. It is only natural that if we win a majority under his leadership, he will become the Chief Minister. Amit Shah's visit to Bihar and the meeting of top NDA leaders under Nitish Kumar's leadership reinforced this position."
