Table Tennis: Aradhya, Swastik win YGTTA titles in Cuttack

Cuttack, Aug 19: Aradhya Sahoo and Swastik Singh emerged champions in their respective categories in 29th YGTTA State Ranking Table Tennis Championships 2024, hosted at Biju Patnaik Indoor Hall, Sector-7, here.

In the Under 11 Girl's singles final, Aradhya Sahoo ( Cuttack) defeated Anwesha Anirudha (Khurdha) by 3-0 Games (11-4,13-11,11-8 ) to become champion.

Similarly, in the Under-11 Boys' Singles title clash, Swastik Singh (KDTTA) beat Avaneesh Subramaniyam (Cuttack) by 3-2 Games (12-10,11-9,4-11,8-11,11-6 ) to lift the trophy.

In the Under-13 Girls' Singles, Aradhya Sahoo (Cuttack) emerged champion again by defeating Ashi Siyanshi (Cuttack) by 3-0 Games (11-4,11-1,11-4) to lift her second crown of the championship.

Jigyanshu Sai Kiran Pradhan (Puri ) defeated Syed Arsh Ali (Cuttack) by 3-0 Games (11-4,11-9,11-6) to become the champion in the Under-13 Boys’ Singles.

In the Under-15 Girls’ Singles final, Urja Verma ( Cuttack) beat Sweta Verma (Cuttack) by 4-0 Games ( 11-9,11-4,11-9,11-9 ) to lift the crown. 

Similarly in the Under-15 Boys' Singles category, Jigyanshu Sai Kiran Pradhan (Puri) beat Zaid Khan ( Cuttack ) by 4-0 games ( 11-4,11-8,11-1,11-4) to emerge winner.

In the Under-17 Girls' Singles final, Urja Verma (Cuttack) beat Sakshi Bhagat (Cuttack) by 4-3 games(11-5,11-3,11-7,9-11,6-11,14-16,11-8 to lift the championship trophy.

Similarly, in the Under 17 Boys' Singles, Jigyanshu Sahoo ( Cuttack) beat Rudra Gouda (Cuttack) by 4-0 games ( 11-4, 11-0,11-7,11-6) to win the crown in his category.

Sweta Padma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) became champion in the Under-19 Girls' Singles defeating Urja Verma (Cuttack) in the final by 4-2 games ( 11-3,11-3,10-12,11-7,8-11,11-2 ).

The Under-19 Boys' Singles crown went to Jigyanshu Sahoo ( Cuttack), who defeated Md Jissan (Cuttack) by 4-0 Games ( 11-7,11-8,11-3,11-3 ) in the title clash.

The Women's Singles trophy was won by Sweta Padama Dalai (Bhubaneswar), who defeated Neha Kumari (AG, Odisha) by 3-2 games ( 11-7,10-12,12-10,6-11,13-11) in the final.

Mainak Das (AG,Odisha) defeated Saswat Samal (Khurdha)by 4-0 games (11-8,11-8,12-10, 11-6) to become Men's Singles champion.

The winners were presented trophies/medals and certificates by chief guest of the occasion Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha. Among others, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal secretary, Rural Development, Govt of Odisha, office bearers of Odisha Sports Table Tennis Association (OSTTA) were present on the occasion.
